Pramod Kelkar, M.D., is a board certified allergy-asthma specialist and has a special interest and expertise in the management of cough in both children and adults. He held the position of Assistant Professor at the Mayo Medical School. He served as the Chair of the Fellows-In-Training Committee in the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & I mmunology. He currently serves on the Academy’s public education committee. He has received AMA Foundation Leadership Award in recognition of his contribution as a leader in the medical field and the community. He has also received the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellow Award in recognition of outstanding - clinical performance, humanitarianism, and scholarly activity.

Cough is Dr Kelkar’s area of special interest. He has conducted multiple educational sessions on cough at the local, state, and national level. Locally, he has presented talks on the evaluation and treatment of cough to the physicians in Indianapolis area including:

He presented on cough at the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians’ conference on the Current Update in January 2003. He presented at the annual meeting of the Indiana Osteopathic Association in May 2003. He developed and conducted an interactive workshop on “Chronic cough: Difficult Cases” at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology in March 2002. In addition to formal presentations, he has also appeared on local radio programs and shared his expertise as an allergy-asthma expert. He uses an individualized approach with each patient, and will work with you and your primary care physician to resolve your cough.
